Legal US sportsbook BetAmerica will rebrand as TwinSpires in 2021 as the online sports betting market continues to expand and evolve in America.
The BetAmerica rebrand is coming at a time when the legal US sports betting industry is taking off. The Churchill Downs Incorporated-owned sportsbook will commence its brand transition in line with the much-anticipated launch of the TwinSpires online sportsbook and casino into Michigan later this month.
The legalization of sports and casino wagering in Michigan adds another state to the rapidly-expanding American gaming scene and presents a great opportunity BetAmerica to rebrand as a new entity. With the TwinSpires brand supported by the tradition and integrity of Churchill Downs – home of the globally-renowned Kentucky Derby and nearly 150 years of wagering history – there is no doubt that TwinSpires will get off to a flyer in the Wolverine State.
“Pursuing a single brand strategy allows us to maintain focus on integrating our horse racing wagering platform alongside our sports betting and iGaming business, which will provide our players with the ultimate online and mobile betting experience,” said Ian Williams, President of Online Gaming, Churchill Downs.
BetAmerica currently has a retail and/or online sportsbook presence in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Indiana, Mississippi and Michigan. However, the BetAmerica rebrand will not affect current BetAmerica players – there will be a seamless migration to TwinSpires in the coming weeks.
To add to the excitement, TwinSpires have just announced that Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre will star in the company’s new brand campaign and act as a brand ambassador. Exciting times lie ahead for the TwinSpires brand and aspiring sports bettors in Michigan.
Rebranding phases are becoming popular in the United States gambling industry, with William Hill recently rebranding to become Caesars.
