The state of Michigan will soon be welcoming legal online casino gambling and DraftKings are fully prepared for the launch date.
Michigan legalized online gambling back in December 2019. This includes online casinos, sports betting and poker. Initially, the Wolverine State was gearing up for a March 2020 launch, just in time for the annual college basketball March Madness tournament and St. Patrick’s Day.
In a bid to finalize all necessary rules and regulations, the launch was pushed back to the end of 2020. Hopefully, Michigan will welcome legal online gambling to the state before the end of the year.
The legalization of online casino gambling is extremely exciting for the people of Michigan and will allow players to use mobile apps or desktop browsers to access a variety of slots and table games and play for real money. Just like in New Jersey, Michigan’s retail casinos will partner with the online casinos.
The three Detroit casinos will launch online casinos under the brands BetMGM, FanDuel Casino, and Hollywood Casino. Other mobile casinos beyond BetMGM will launch in partnership with Michigan’s tribal casinos, including DraftKings Casino, BetRivers Casino, and Golden Nugget.
As is often the case, DFS giants DraftKings are ahead of the curve and are offering Michigan residents the chance to register an account now. DraftKings are the biggest DFS brand in the United States, but are now also sports betting and casino heavyweights too. Anyone in Michigan who registers an account at DraftKings before the launch of online casino and sports betting will receive a $200 bonus ($100 for casino and $100 for sports).
