Roulette can be as simple as one makes it out to be. Place your bets and watch the ball spin around the wheel and land a number and/or color. It’s more complicated than that, but that is the very basic mechanic of one of the most popular table games at the casino.
A player may also place wagers on outcomes other than the exact number. Players can wager on the ball landing on the 1st 12 numbers (1-12), 2nd 12 numbers (13-24), and the 3rd 12 numbers (25-36), players can wager on the ball landing on 1-18, or 19-36 and, finally, players can wager on the ball landing on any one of the three columns of numbers. Players may also wager on whether the ball will land on an even or odd number and/or on a red or black color.
Roulette tables have minimum bet requirements that need to be met before each spin. The bets on the numbers inside do not influence your bets on the outside. If you want to keep track of previous spin results, each roulette wheel has a tracking board that shows the history of previous spins. With the most recent spin at the top, red, black or a green zero will appear after each spin, in addition to showing percentages on how many times the ball has landed on red, back, 1st 12 numbers, even or odd, etc.

The types of live roulette games are American roulette, European roulette, and Auto roulette. There are no differences on how to play, but European roulette offers 37 numbers to bet including one zero number. American roulette offers 38 numbers to bet on including two zero numbers.
There are a few live dealer roulette strategies that are commonplace among advanced players.
The most common or well-known strategy at a casino is the Martingale System, and this can be used on iCasinos for roulette as well. A player doubles the bet size on a losing spin in the hopes of recuperating losses. If a player makes $20 worth of wagers and loses, the player will then place $40 worth of wagers on the next spin to try and recover.
This is more of a live roulette strategy when wagering on colors (black or red) because there is only two outcomes (aside from that tricky green zero space). Although the Martingale system can get expensive during a cold streak, it is highly regarded as the ‘best’ roulette strategy.
In a similar fashion to the Martingale system, the Paroli System is where a player wants to build off a hot streak. Instead of reacting off loses, this live roulette system asks the player to increase their bet after a win and keep increasing the wager sizes as winning spins pile up.
To almost combine the two previous systems listed, the D’Alembert system asks for a player to increasing wager sizes after losses and decrease wager sizes after wins. Although not mathematically sound and typically leaning into the thought process of gambler’s fallacy, it remains a popular live roulette strategy when wanting to stay at a live roulette table for a while.
